PRAYER REQUESTS for the ASL CBT Translation Team 

PRAISES! 
- Our consultant has had many other demands on his time, which has made it difficult for him to keep up with the pace of our team\u2019s work. Praise God for His provision of two more translation consultants being assigned to us for the next few months, to help us finish this year\u2019s project on schedule. We are thrilled to work with consultants Shadrack and join from DOOR International.

PRAY FOR OUR TEAM: 
- Our consultant Stuart is teaching a 2-week course in Israel right now at the Jerusalem Center for Bible Translators (JCBT).  Pray for his safety, and also for the class to go well. 
- Various health issues and\/or family issues have been popping up for our team members over the last few months. In the past we have noticed that spiritual attacks often come in this form whenever we are getting close to completing a project.  Pray for God to protect us as we do this work. 
- We REALLY need your fervent prayers for 2025!  During the month of August, our team was hit hard by a series of very unexpected twists related to the 2025 funding proposal. We are honestly still reeling from these blows, and we\u2019re not sure how all of this will play out.  If things do not work out, our jobs will end on December 31, 2024.  With the current situation, our fundraiser Jason now needs to raise $500,000+ in a hurry for our team to be able to continue doing translation work in 2025. Pray for our team; pray for Jason; and pray for God to send individual people and churches who are willing to contribute to help this project continue.  If you know of any who might be interested in supporting our work, please let us know!      

PRAY FOR OTHER DEAF TRANSLATION TEAMS:    
- Pray for God to raise up more people who are interested in becoming sign language translation consultants, and for God to provide funding for these consultants and consultants-in-training.
- For the past couple years, the trend among some of the major hearing translation organizations (in an effort to save time and money) has been to push deaf translation teams to do Bible translations at an accelerated pace, with minimal training, and with no translation consultants. We are now seeing more of these accelerated translations being published, and there are many serious errors and quality concerns. Please pray that the hearing organizations will realize the harm they are doing by requiring deaf teams to use this \u201caccelerated\u201d process.  Pray that they redirect their money and energy into developing more translation consultants and providing deaf teams with the support they need to produce good quality work.
