Spending time with them was a great reminder of the best gift we have—Jesus. He is someone we can thank every single day for His love and grace. As we enter a new year, I want to share a worship song that reflects the cry of my heart: “Jesus Wants Our Hearts.” While the full release of the song isn’t quite ready yet, I’m excited to give you a sneak peek and invite you to stay tuned for the full version, which will be announced soon on the Deaf Rising Phoenix’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

I wrote this song because I’ve felt God working deeply in me—removing my masks and teaching me to show the real me, not just to Him, but to others as well. Over the past year, I spent time reflecting on my life and learning to apply these lessons. God showed me His grace and healing, teaching me to let go of brokenness, shame, and the mess in my life. This wasn’t an overnight process—it took time, humility, and surrender. Every day, I continue to experience His renewal and deeper freedom in Christ.

While reflecting on Saul and David in 1 Samuel, God deeply touched my heart. Saul focused on outward appearances, seeking approval and control, but David was different. God chose David because of his heart—a heart that was humble, repentant, and real before God.

For so long, I was worried about what people thought of me, hiding behind masks and feeling embarrassed by some of my actions. But God showed me that He doesn’t care about appearances—He looks at the heart. He doesn’t focus on our position, title, or status—whether we’re pastors, leaders, missionaries, teachers, choir members, police officers, firefighters, soldiers, secretaries, presidents, or even those in unseen roles. What matters to Him is the condition of our hearts. It reminds me that God is the only one who is perfect and the only one who can help us make things right with Him. He invited me to trust Him to shape me, even in my mess and brokenness. Through His grace, I’m learning to let go of shame, surrender my heart, and live in the freedom He can give.

This truth challenged me to examine my own life:

Was I hiding behind masks like Saul, or was I willing to be authentic and vulnerable like David?

God sees everything. He doesn’t want perfection or pretense—He simply wants our hearts, even with all their mess, brokenness, and wounds. And every day, He invites me to surrender again, experiencing His renewal and the freedom only He can give.

This message became so clear as I shared God’s Word about Saul and David during my time in Barbados and Brazil. In both places, I encouraged people to embrace His love and surrender their hearts fully to Him. In Brazil, I also witnessed hearts being renewed as they experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. Through it all, I saw firsthand how God restores and frees those who come to Him just as they are.

This Song Is for Everyone

Whether you already know Jesus or are searching for something more, this song is an invitation:
To come to Him with humility and a repentant heart.

To lay down pride, fear, and shame, and experience true freedom in Him.

To release the habit of striving for perfection and embrace the beauty of our imperfections, knowing He sees us as His beloved creation.

To invite Him to soften our hardened hearts, allowing His love to break through unforgiveness, bitterness, stubbornness, or pain.

To ask Him to remove the masks we hide behind, so we don’t live like the Pharisees—focused on the outward while our hearts remain distant.

To give Him our wounded, broken, messy hearts—trusting Him to renew us daily and set us free.

To live in a way that pleases God, not people, no matter the circumstances or expectations.

This song is a reminder that surrendering to Jesus isn’t just for a season like Christmas or New Year’s—it’s for eternity. It’s an invitation for all of us to lay everything at His feet and trust Him to restore, redeem, and renew us through His everlasting love.

Whether you’re a believer or an unbeliever, this song calls us to give our hearts fully to God and reveal our true identity in Christ by removing the masks we hide behind. For believers, it’s a call to examine your life and take off any masks that keep you from fully embracing His love and grace. For unbelievers, it’s an invitation to surrender your life to Jesus and discover who you truly are in Him.

Whatever burdens you carry—shame, fear, or anything weighing on your shoulders—His love invites you to release them and step onto the path of freedom and renewal. Jesus offers forgiveness, grace, and a new beginning to all who come to Him just as they are.

True strength doesn’t come from ourselves. It begins when we recognize our need for Jesus and surrender to His work in us, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us continually.

Note: This song is not mine—it belongs to God. He gave me the vision for it and brought together several people to carry out His plan. Each person played a role in creating this video to reach and touch hearts for His glory.

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

– 1 Samuel 16:7b

Let’s step into this new year with open hearts, knowing that in His presence, we find peace, and in His love, we find freedom.

I pray this song touches your heart as it has touched mine. May 2025 be a year where you experience God’s restoration, transformation, and daily renewal freshly and powerfully.

Stay Tuned!

If you don’t have a Facebook or Instagram page, here’s where you can stay updated for the song’s full release:

[DRP Facebook Page]

[DRP Instagram Page]

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers.
