Mike & Polly Brown – Missionaries to Bolivia
Reaching\u00a0the marginalized, outcast, and forgotten with\u00a0the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Proverbs 25:25 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season of Harvest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd he said to them, \u2018The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’\u201d – Luke 10:2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we look forward to Thanksgiving, we are reminded of its origins. The Pilgrims were grateful to God for bringing them safely through the previous winter and allowed them, thanks also to the help of the Natives, to experience their first harvest in the New World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We celebrated our 8 year anniversary of arriving in Bolivia on October 3. We\u2019ve enjoyed some fruitful harvests here. A lot of that is thanks to the faithfulness of many laborers (missionaries and national workers) who have gone before us and others who have come alongside us. We rejoice in the successes. We also recognize the great harvest that still remains. As missionary Loren Triplett once said, \u201cYou don\u2019t measure yourself by your success but by the Unfinished Task.\u201d I once heard someone put it this way: \u201cWe don\u2019t measure the harvest by what\u2019s in the barn but by what\u2019s still in the fields.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we are grateful for the fruitful harvest we\u2019ve seen to this point. But we\u2019re also focused on the harvest still to come. Would you pray that the Lord would send us back to Bolivia in 2027 after our year in the U.S. even better prepared? Would you also pray for more workers in Bolivia? Would you pray and consider if you might be part of that response?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking of more workers, our MAPS worker Tyson has already begun the process to return for 2 years to serve alongside us here in Bolivia. We praise the Lord for that! We also got to participate in sending our friend Jhobi on her first ever missions trip to Southeast Asia as she considers her own potential call to missions. We praise the Lord for that opportunity too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fruitful Ministry – Fall 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have had so many opportunities in the past few months since we last sent out a newsletter. Let’s look at some highlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike had the opportunity to attend the first Assemblies of God Southern Cone MM33 NextGen Ministry Summit (that’s not the official name, but rather a descriptive one). NextGen leaders from Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay came together to strategize reaching youth and kids with the Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We continue to serve the Deaf kids, youth, college students, teachers, and their families with our weekly lunches and Bible lesson. We were also so encouraged as we once again participated in the march for the Deaf and Sign Language in Cochabamba. We had so many friends that we were happy to see and who were happy to see us. Building relationships is key to any ministry and especially among the Deaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We taught a parenting workshop throughout September and October at a local church as part of our desire to see healthy, whole families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hosted a team from Orlando led by friends who came and served at the end of October while planning more trips in 2027. It was mostly connected to our desire to better serve those with special needs. It was such a wonderful time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November, Mike\u00a0visited friends who are new ChildHope missionaries in Honduras as part of our new ChildHope role as Vice Presidents of Field Ministries and Partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While in Honduras, Mike also got to visit our friends and their ministry to the Deaf, including their school for the Deaf and their church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his return to Bolivia, Mike stayed in Santa Cruz to help launch the pilot for getting Sawyer water filters into our schools and each home of the students in those schools. Sawyer donated around 25,000 filters to ChildHope schools in 8 countries and the money to cover customs, shipping, etc. We had a great week fine-tuning the process of how the distribution will work in each country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, we received our new area directors for their first ever visit to Bolivia. We had an incredible week of important strategic meetings and showing them some of the ministries with which we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re in the midst of having our ChildHope Christmas parties. Our last one will be in Santa Cruz on Wednesday, November 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

And,\u00a0of course, the construction continues at the kids church Plenitud de Gozo (Fullness of Joy) near the city dump in Cochabamba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
