Easter, growing our team, and more! Here
are some of the amazing things God has done so far in 2025.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” - Revelation 7:9

Church Anniversary and Mission Sunday

In April, we celebrated TICA’s 28th Anniversary Sunday. We were blessed to have Dr. John Easter (Executive Director of AGWM) as our guest speaker for this special service. Dr. Easter spoke on the importance of sending and being sent, and what a timely message that was, because the following week, we had our very first Mission Sunday at TICA. At this service, we introduced TWO new Japanese families who are joining our pastoral staff, as well as veteran Japan missionary, Shelley Carl, who joined our church-planting team last month. We are so thankful and amazed at what God has done in TICA’s 28 year history, and we are so excited to see what He’s going to do in the next year!

Easter Service and Outreach

What an incredible Easter Sunday at TICA! We had an amazing worship service celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, an Easter Egg Hunt, and a lunch of yakitori and hotdogs afterwards. Over 275 people came to church (a new record for TICA), including many first time guests. We even filled up BOTH parking lots and had people parking on the street! Please pray that we would reconnect with people from the community who came to church for the first time, and that we would see them again at church soon. A big THANK YOU to the True North Church team from Alaska that came out to help with all our Easter prep and outreach. We can't wait for next year!

Transitioning to Interim Lead Pastors

Our first Sunday as intern lead pastors at TICA

In April, our team leaders (Chris and Lindsey Carter) left for itineration in the States. They'll be back a few times over the next year to help with some of our big outreaches and events, but in the mean time, they've asked us to step in as interim lead pastors at TICA. April 27th was our first Sunday in this new role, and we're still in full-time language school until next March. While we know this will stretch us in many ways, we also know God's grace is sufficient, and we are so excited to see what God is going to do. We have such an incredible board of deacons and lay leaders at TICA that are supporting and encouraging us as we start this season of ministry as well. Please pray for continued energy and wisdom as we lead the church for the next year, and for safety and favor for the Carters as they fundraise in America.
